Greetings Festivarians,
We are very excited to be hosting this inaugural New Folk ~ Old Folk Music Festival. We’re hoping it proves to be a fun weekend for everyone involved and that we can keep the good times rolling for years to come.
There are several topics we’d like to go over leading up to the event.
- A bit late in the game, but it has been brought to our attention that the Fischer Agriculture society will no longer allow us to camp on the actual grounds of Fischer Hall other than security and our food vendor. Therefore, all Staff & underwriter camping will be located on the Northeast corner of Camp Solis, closest to the hall. Despite the rumor mill, this mainly impacts our Staff that had typically camped along the fence line next to the bowling alley. It has no bearing on the campgrounds across the road from the hall.
- It has always been Cabin 10’s policy from the very 1st Rice Festival to the last Fischer Fest that, although we love dogs, no dogs are allowed within Fischer Hall. We prefer that no dogs are brought to the festival at all, but if you must bring your dogs, we ask that they are kept on a leash no more than 6’, at all times. Pets are allowed in the campground but must be confined or on a leash (6' maximum). Pets should not be left unattended in the campground or your car. Please prevent excessive barking and properly dispose of pet waste. If anyone brings a dog and does not abide by these rules, you will be asked to leave without a refund of your ticket. It is especially important in the campgrounds that no dogs run free due to the owner having a corral of donkeys.
- We will have a section of the campground for campers that have the need for generators. Generator use is prohibited from midnight to 8 am.
- Generator use and battery charging by engine idling is prohibited in regular camping areas.
- No open ground fires are permitted. Campfires are only allowed in contained metal fire rings. Portable stoves and lanterns using liquid petroleum fuels are allowed.
- We are providing free beverages for the event including beer, wine, sodas, tea and water. We have acquired the necessary TABC temporary permit. Therefore, beverages will not be allowed onto the Fischer Hall grounds.
- The “Crepe Lady” will be there to provide scrumptious food throughout the day, but if you prefer to pack your own food in, that’s okay… just no beverages please.
- John Imperial will also be on hand serving up your coffee bean desires.
T-shirts are available at a discounted price with the purchase of a General Admission ticket with T-Shirt or with an underwriters package only. These type of tickets will no longer be available after March 5th. There will be very few T-Shirts for sale at the festival in limited sizes, so if you have changed your mind and would like a T-Shirt, they will be available to order via the cabin10.org T-Shirt page after March 5th. You can choose your style and size and have it shipped directly to you. These are not just shirts folks, they are wearable works of art, designed by our good friend and local artist Jason Lawson. You’re going to want one.
Please remember that a lot of the fun and good music will happen both Friday & Saturday nights in the campgrounds after the scheduled music ends. We encourage you to bring your acoustic instruments with you to partake in the song circles. All ticket holders (including Yardbirds) are welcome. No one will be admitted to the campgrounds without a wristband.
Once again, thank you for your patronage and we look forward to seeing you this year and many years to come. Mark your calendars for New Folk ~ Old Folk 2024 Music Festival at Fischer Hall, May 3-5, 2024.
